BioImaging Core Facility State-of-the-art Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and MRI live animal imaging systems. Instrumentation
The Imaging equipment is supported by trained animal care technicians from the bioresearch Core facility and research animals are cared for in a short-term and a long-term transient housing rooms provided with highly sophisticated, barrier housing systems. Multiple anesthesia systems and telemetry equipment are available. All procedures are reviewed by the Rensselaer Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) - and the attending veterinarian. Fully outfitted sample and subject preparation workspaces also are available. Additional fees may be incurred for bioresearch animal technician assistance. Other Equipment Scanco Medical Viva CT40 is a high speed in vivo micro CT scanner ideal for resolving dense tissues including bone, contrast-enhanced structures such as vasculature, and soft tissue. The system includes software capable of data acquisition, online/offline reconstruction, 2D & 3D analysis and reconstruction, 3D visualization & animation, and archiving.
