The primary interests of the Makhatadze lab are in the computational design of protein thermostability, in understanding the structural and thermodynamic aspects of protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions, and in the experimental studies on the mechanism of adaptations to
extreme conditions (thermophiles, psychrophiles, halophiles). Particular
emphasis is placed on systems of biological, medicinal or biotechnological importance. |
