Research Constellations

Rensselaer research constellations are endowed faculty-run centers for collaborative research. Each constellation is led by one to three world-class faculty members in a particular research field. CBIS innovated this organizational structure to bring groundbreaking faculty together to perform multidisciplinary research. The constellations encourage blue-sky thinking with highly targeted research.

Functional Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Constellation

Despite significant advances over the last 100 years, tissue regeneration remains a complex and multi-factorial problem. The TERM Constellation will pursue these research aims and will focus on three major physiological systems: cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and the nervous systems, which complement existing research strengths at Rensselaer and are associated with cutting-edge research and new federal and state funding initiatives.
