Research Opportunities for Undergraduates
We encourage interested students to participate in the research activities of the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Opportunities are available for students at all levels from Freshman to Senior year.
You will become part of a faculty member’s research group and work with graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and other research scientists on projects of real scientific significance. Often participating undergraduates become co-authors on papers in scientific journals.
Plus, you will get the opportunity to showcase your work at a symposium in August. The annual event attracts a spectacular array of work from many disciplines. Here, students learn how to professionally present their work to faculty and researchers.
Both academic year and summer projects allow today’s youth – and tomorrow's leaders – to explore and begin to develop their passions and interests.
Meet the researchers
About 50 undergraduates participate in research each semester. These are a few of them.
