The Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute interweaves life sciences, physical sciences, and engineering into the fields of biotechnology and medicine, opening exciting new pathways to innovation and discovery. From complex biological networks to nanoscale assemblies that mimic biological processes, CBIS is a powerhouse of academic and research advancement. Jonathan Dordick, the Howard P. Isermann Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, will receive the 2015 Food, Pharmaceutical and Bioengineering Division Award in Chemical Engineering at the AIChE Annual Meeting, Nov. 8-13, in Salt Lake City.

To celebrate the launch of Art_X@Rensselaer, a panel discussion on "(Bio)Designing the Future of Medicine" was held Nov. 3, 2015 in the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS) Auditorium, the third in a series of events highlighting the new initiative.
