Registration
Fees are 1,000 EUR (900 EUR before the end of Apr) for regular participants and 200 EUR (100 EUR before the end of Apr) for students. Fees cover all food, drinks and materials, including the conference dinner, which will be held in a restaurant in Troy.
The workshop is limited to 30 participants on a first come first served basis.
RPI will host the event, but the registration will be processed via Forschungszentrum Jülich.
Scope
The scope of the workshop includes but is not limited to:
- Available transport and binding models and tools for selecting the most appropriate one
- Network of unit operations for describing external holdup volumes and multi-column systems
- Sources of non-ideality in real equipment and modeling concepts for addressing them
- Score functions, error models and search algorithms for model calibration and process design
- User interface, data handling, workflow management and secure deployment
- Open source software development and community concept for the public domain

Venue
The workshop will take place at Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), 1623 15th St, Troy, NY 12180, USA. Times are 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). All events, except dinner, will take place in a seminar room in CBIS.

Travel and accommodation
The city of Troy is located in upstate New York near Albany, the capital city of New York state. If you are within a driving distance from Troy, we recommend directly driving to RPI to ensure your maximum comfort. If not, Albany can be reached by train or air. If by train, we recommend Amtrak (Amtrak Station - ALB). If by air, we recommend directly flying to Albany International Airport (ALB). Starting from Albany, RPI can be most conveniently reached by car/Uber. Check google maps for details.
The registration fees do not include accommodation fees. If you want to stay in Troy, the closest hotels are:

There are plenty of other hotels in Albany. Most can be easily reached in around 20 minutes’ drive. Please see google map for more details. We do not recommend walking by yourself in the evenings.
