The BioResearch Core (BRC) facilities include 14,000 square feet of rodent research space with barrier housing in ventilated rack systems, surgery and procedure suites, necropsy and anesthesia rooms, sterilization and washing facility, Hydropac water system, behavioral and circadian research suites, an aquatic research complex and quarantine facilities. The BioResearch staff supports all rodent BioImaging procedures.
Compliance
The BRC adheres to all guidelines of the NIH (Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and New York State Department of Health. All activities are reviewed and approved by the Rensselaer Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) – and by the attending veterinarian.
Information concerning facility Specific-Pathogen-Free (SPF) profile and quarantine policies is available. Professional assistance with the preparation of animal research protocols and training in specific procedures are available by appointment.
