Why is Flow Cytometry becoming a very popular technology?

Flow cytometry is a very powerful technology because it provides qualitative and quantitative information about parameters associated with cells or particles by monitoring their fluorescence. The goal of this course is to provide the basics to understand cell characterization by flow cytometry in relation to the requirements in biotechnology, pharmaceutical companies and laboratory medicine. The attendees will learn how to perform quality control, sample preparation, as well as color compensation. They will analyze and interpret the results focusing on understanding the quality and reliability of the data collected. This course will also include major cell base assays such as immunophenotyping, cytokines analysis, cell proliferation during viral immune response (like during COVID-19 outbreak), vaccine research, biomarkers and therapeutics.

Sessions:

  • Principles and applications of Flow Cytometry
  • Types of data collection in Flow Cytometry depending on the application
  • Data analysis and interpretation
